RULES & REGULATIONS
Students who are part of the Hamilton Park Liturgical Dance Ministry will learn liturgical dance routines to participate in scheduled worship services and musical concerts when asked by the minister of music. Students 3 years of age through adults can participate in the dance ministry. Food, drinks or chewing gum are not allowed during rehearsals. Be at all classes PROMPTLY at the scheduled times. Hair must be neatly secured to the head and pulled back in a bun or ponytail. Note: We are not responsible for any jewelry when removed during class. PARENT OBSERVATIONS: Parents are invited to see their child's progress the last 15 minutes of each class. All students are required to take the Saturday technique classes with their respective age. Saturday technique classes will teach performance skills, coordination, and specific dance movements that will be used in each choreographed routine. We do not make-up classes missed by students. Note: Perfect attendance and encouragement stimulates students' interest and teaches commitment. If a student has more than two absences on Saturday rehearsals while we are preparing for a particular performance, he/she will not be available when the choreographer is setting dance formations. As a result, the absent student will hace to wait for the next monthly dance ministry performance. Note: An absent student only hinders the WHOLE dance ministry for being prepared for a particular worship service or musical concert performance. If for any reason a student is absent, Etra must be notified prior to each Saturday rehearsal. Dress in the costume chosen for the Liturgical Dance Ministry: correct tigts, correct footwear, and hair secure in the correct style chosen. Note: Because we represent both God and Hamilton Park United Methodist Church, these three requirements will demonstrate unity, team work, discipline, and respect when in the presence of people and God. When performing for the morning worship services, all students are required to participate in BOTH 8:00 A.M. & 11:00 A.M. worship services. Students are free to leave after their 11:00 A.M. worship service performance.
Being part of the Hamilton Park Liturgical Dance Ministry is a commitment to God and is very serious in offering your best before the Lord. Therefore, not adhering to the rules & regulations will only hinder the full ministry from fulfilling their responsibility and commitment. Before joining, both parents and students must understand the commitment it requires to God, other students involved, and the instructor while making the decision.
